This was when I started to watch Notts. My Dad took me to my first game during the 70 -71 Championship season. I sat on the wall behind the goal at the Meadow Lane End. I knew Notts played in black & white stripes as the indoctrination had started from a very early age. I made a big mistake as the players ran out wearing blue track suit tops - thinking this was the away team I decided to boo them, much to the displeasure of the other 7 year olds sitting on the wall who obviously thought I was an away fan. I don't actually remember who we played but I remember that Notts won 4-0 so with the help of the official Notts County History book by Tony Brown, I have concluded that it must have been April 12th, 1971 against Colchester. Tony Hateley scored a hat - trick & Don Masson scored the other goal.
The day Leeds came to Meadow Lane
Don Masson leads out the Championship winning team against Exeter City, Roy "Chubby" Brown follows.

Programme cover from the last game of the 1973 season - we won 4-1 to go up. This was my first time on the pitch.

And after the game - I'm down there somewhere - "We want Sirrel"

This was our first home game after we had got promoted to Div 2 - Sunderland had just won the FA Cup. I particularly liked the comments I've put in next to the players. As an impressionable 9 year old I got my dislike of Bob Worthington from my Dad. His brother Frank got all the family talent.
Ian Scanlon's 165 second Hat Trick against Sheff Wednesday. I remember joining in the chants of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Shit and as I said the S of the S word my Dad clipped me round the head - I was only 9 at the time.

Notts Number 1 fan ??
Programme notes discussing the perils of television
The day Man Utd came to town in 1975 and wrecked Meadow Lane.
I was very scared at this game because of all the trouble - I remember a picture in the Evening Post of a policeman with a Kung Fu star wedged in his helmet - aahh the good old days of football hooliganism.
The greatest manager in the game - official
Programme cover from Southampton
Game at Bolton with a very young Peter Reid - is that Allardyce in there as well ??
This definitely looks like Allardyce to me - McVay's doing what many Notts fans would like to do to him after the way he walked out on us. Personally I think he did a great job for us and couldn't blame him for leaving to go to his favourite club.
The night we played our 300th League Game - the first club to do so.
The day Notts beat Best , Marsh & Moore at Craven Cottage
The closest I, Stephen Parnham, ever got to playing for Notts. November 13th 1976 against Wolves. I got to run onto the pitch to the centre circle, wave to the crowd and then run towards the Kop end - I was sited near the goal. I kept the mud from my boots in a plastic bag for years.

Autographs that I got in the players lounge after my next door neighbour at the time, John Ford, got me in.
Stevie, Stevie Carter on the wing. I took this picture to the barbers to get the same haircut. I also had a mate at the time with the same name who lived in Netherfield.
I loved the adidas kit - can we have one again please Mr Storrie ?
These seats look great - no pigeon shit like the present seats. Mind you sitting down at football will never catch on.
Sunday football - it'll never catch on

Pedro Richards was a bit of a hero of mine until I met him in a Nottingham pub a few years ago.....mmm
This made me chuckle - Miss Personality - as in she's a bit of a moose but she's got a great personality. Apologies to female fans.
Any ideas ??
We all agree Raddy is better than Shilton
